The choice of a Romney Hut was to match the adjacent building used by North Lincolnshire Council for housing goats.
Romney Huts were developed at the outbreak of World War II as one of a series of prefabricated huts to supplement the World-War-I-era Nissen hut. The Romney hut design dates from about 1941. It is constructed from a clamped tubular steel frame with a central entrance.
Work began on the hut in late 2017 once planning permission had been granted.
