Only internal trackwork this week. In readiness to put Loco’s back on rails. See area one.

We will be moving track from outside to inside. Additional Sleeper lifting Nips have been purchased to allow 8 people to lift a Sleeper without too much strain.

Schoma Loco’s.

Workshop– No work this week on locos but a possibility of re-railing the Schoma locos.

Area one:

This is from ring 1 to 3 Moor end roller door

All the sleeper gap distance are now agreed at 2 feet between sleepers. This has been checked and is enough for the weight of our loco’s.. Fit fishplates (Nuts on outside) please grease the fish plates before fitting. Melvyn has soaked several sets of nuts and bolds

Area two:

Ring 3 to 6 No work in this area

Area three:

This area is from ring 6 to ring 9.

No work required this week

Area Four:

This is from ring 9 to 12. No work in this area

Area five.

This area is from Ring 12 to 16.

Most of the machinery had been re-assembled and now requires cleaning down.

There are many boxes of tools that need sorting out and identifying then cleaned a list of spanner sizes needs collating, this will enable to put together tool kits and an inventory for each on.

General duties.

Clear up cups and rubbish.

Area outside: Nails and screws have been found again in the areas around our car parking, please sweep if possible. We are unsure were these keep coming from. you have been warned possible unwanted activity.

Bins to empty.

Walk ways to clean.

Finally our needs.

We are in the market for a metal cutting band saw or reciprocating saw.
Also a good sized milling machine.
Welding equipment all types.
A Bance impact drill for fixing fishplates and screwing (This has its own petrol engine).

We are looking to borrow a large stihl Saw for cutting stone.

Also we need;
– spades, shovels, picks, hammers and barrows.
– Oil cans
– Oil to put in the oil cans (clean, either multi-grade or one grade)
– Cans of WD40
– Wire brushes, hand
– Wire brushes for electric drills.
Paint brushes
– Drill bits all sizes
– Shovels
– Spades
– Pickaxes

WE also need volunteers to use them
